Levo is an API-first cybersecurity platform built for cloud-native environments, enabling organizations to protect their API ecosystems at scale. We redesigned the product to simplify complex workflows, establish a consistent interface, and empower DevOps and security teams to fully utilize its protection capabilities.
01
Key workflows across the product were fragmented, with multiple disjointed entry points leading to the same task. This caused users to lose context and abandon operations midway.
02
Security insights were presented in dense graphs that were difficult to interpret. Users struggled to extract meaningful, actionable information from visual reports.
03
Unstructured presentation of data and actions created significant discoverability issues, leaving users unaware of many critical features. As a result, most users engaged with only a small fraction of the product’s capabilities.
Our goal was to guide users in completing tasks and exploring Levo’s product fully. We achieved this by building a consistent design system, fixing fragmented workflows, and making advanced features more approachable, transforming complex security data into clear, actionable insights.
We built a robust design system that standardized components, layouts, and interactions across the platform. This eliminated visual inconsistencies and laid a foundation for future feature rollouts with a unified visual identity.
We crafted an onboarding flow for organizations that walks users through essential tasks, allowing them to experience the product’s full capabilities early on. This hands-on approach ensured users understood how each feature contributes to stronger API security, leading to higher product adoption and better security outcomes.
We redesigned the Test Run process into a structured four-step flow selecting the test user, choosing runnable endpoints, picking vulnerability test categories, and applying additional configurations. This streamlined sequence removed unnecessary complexity, allowing security teams to run precise, high-value scans and quickly pinpoint the root cause of issues.
We restructured how critical security data is presented by surfacing essential metrics upfront and simplifying complex graphs into clear visual summaries. Step-by-step threat analysis flows were designed to help users interpret vulnerabilities quickly and take decisive actions without sifting through overwhelming data.
We designed a comprehensive Test Runs module that enables users to drill down from a broad list of security test executions to the exact request-response logs where vulnerabilities are identified. By comparing request and response data side-by-side, security teams can trace the root cause of issues with precision, significantly accelerating investigation and remediation workflows.
By streamlining Levo’s Satellite to capture only what’s necessary, our design helped enterprises save $100–500k in cloud costs, even in the most demanding environments.
Our design enabled high configuration flexibility, allowing both sensors and satellites to be managed directly from the UI saving valuable time and cloud resources that previously relied on engineering support.
The redesigned workflows and guided onboarding encouraged users to explore beyond core tasks, unlocking more of Levo’s advanced security features and driving deeper product engagement.
Our design system gave Levo a unified foundation for UI and workflows, cutting future design and development effort by 30–40%. This not only lowered long-term costs but also sped up feature releases and product enhancements.
